What do we care about most when choosing a vet?

Every pet owner should have concerns about how to choose a good vet for their pets. We all wish the vet was not far from home, but the veterinary service that we may encounter is not good and unprofessional. And the veterinarian with good service and professionalism may be in a veterinary hospital far away.

We are just curious what other pet owners do about their vet.

  1. Do they have to travel far to see theirs?
  2. Would proximity be a bigger factor for them?
  3. Have they ever lost faith in their vet?
  4.  Did they ever come back to the vet?

Through survey interviews, we learned that some pet owners have provided good advices.

  1. Do what is right for you and your pets. Because it is well worth driving 30 minutes to an AMAZING vet.
  2. Sometimes we do have to break up with our vets. If there is an emergency, it is best to find a veterinarian near you. If they’re just doing a checkup or health check, you can drive to the vet more than 30 minutes away.
  3. If you lost faith in a previously good doctor, absolutely you should change to a good vet. Our pet’s health is more important than any brand loyalty towards a specific vet.
  4. You can find your vet by asking in your city’s subreddit, or maybe a local Facebook group or just something like that, and cross-check with reviews on google or Yelp.

In summary, Do what is right for you and your pets. No matter how far you drive, if the vet is someone you can trust, and good for your pet, it’s worth it.
